Accent walls should be the first one which anyone sees upon entering. So, if you are toying with an idea of getting one in your room, see to it that the accent wall faces the entrance. Also, an accent wall looks great if it highlights any focal point in your room. So, if a wall has a large window or a fireplace, you can paint it as an accent. If you have none of these, you can create your own focal point of the room by placing a large piece of furniture like a sofa or the television, in front of the accent wall! Remember, whether you are placing a television or a sofa in front of the accent wall, there should always be some space between these items and the wall. Leaving space in between makes the room look breathable and inviting.
